What is a vCIO?  A Virtual Chief Information Officer (vCIO) is the person who is both familiar with your business processes as well as the current technology you are using, yet it not a dedicated full-time resource. The vCIO works with the owner and senior managers at key times of the year that align with executive planning meetings and budget preparation.

We offer vCIO services to augment your organization and to provide recommendations in areas of best practices and industry standards, assisting companies move forward in a strategic manor. We can fully immerse ourselves in the overall strategic planning or fill a specific need within an already established corporate vision.

The vCIO is also responsible for working with business owners or executive team on long-term planning of the organization, with specific focus on indentifying opportunities, as well as designing and implementing the technology required to achieve these long-term goals.

Our Approach

We utilize a 4-step approach to strategic planning; this simple process is typically followed by organizations of all sizes and can easily be scaled to meet the needs of profit or nonprofit organizations. The process might be implemented in year one and then embellished in later years with more planning phases and activities to ensure well-rounded direction.

The basic strategic planning process includes:

• Identify your corporate vision (mission statement) - This is the statement(s) that describes why your organization exists, i.e., its basic purpose.
• Reverse engineer the long term vision to create the short term action plan.
• Identify specific approaches or strategies that must be implemented to reach each goal – create an operational plan that begins to address the short term action items.
• Review the progress and direction of the operational planning and adjust as necessary to ensure infrastructure changes are always in line with the corporate goals and objectives.
